A group of rural lifestyle properties in a blue-chip New South Wales region produced an 83% clearance rate with $10 million in total auction sales last week.
Real estate agents have partially attributed this popularity to city residents seeking space and protection from the pandemic.
The selling agent, David Nolan, said that the demand for lifestyle properties in rural areas is very strong, and there’s been no disruption in values from the coronavirus.
The highest-selling of these properties is located on 67 hectares of grazing country three and half hours from Sydney. The property features a four bedroom home, a swimming pool, a second two-bedroom home, and twenty stables.
Nolan said that the people he sells to are financially well-off and looking to get out of the city; a desire which has only gotten stronger since the COVID-19 outbreak.
This is just a small example of how the coronavirus is changing our attitudes towards property, and the types of homes that will be popular going forward.
