Australia’s Young Rich Making Fortunes from Tech

More than half of 200 Australians on the Financial Review’s Rich List have made their fortunes through traditional real estate, resources, and brick and mortar retail.

The under 40s entrepreneurship list is different. They’re making their money in the Ether from technology and services delivered to iPhones, not across the counter. In fact, most of them are invested in some type of technology, but none of them are in the leisurely class. Their money’s tied up in the companies they’re trying to build, and we all know that entrepreneurship isn’t for the faint-hearted. It takes a lot of passion and grit to be able to ride the ups and downs of starting your own business and to persevere through adversity without knowing what’s waiting on the other side.

Instead of looking at our young entrepreneurs through filtered lens, we should be celebrating them as the ones who are connecting Australia into the digital disruption and transformation of the world.
